OCN current Victorian Projects
Electrifying Apartment Buildings
Supported by a Cheaper Home Electric Energy Program (CHEEP) grant from the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA), OCN is working with Let Me Be Frank on a project tackling the systemic barriers that can leave apartment buildings and strata communities behind in the clean energy transition. Because apartment buildings rely on complex, shared infrastructure and collective, volunteer-led governance, moving away from gas poses unique challenges. Working with selected Victorian apartment communities, the project will develop a roadmap to pilot practical, real-world electrification upgrades.
Unlocking Electrification Upgrades in Apartment Buildings
OCN has been awarded a collaborative, multi-year grant from Energy Consumers Australia (ECA) to unlock electrification upgrades in Victorian apartment buildings. Working with Let Me Be Frank, the project will empower consumers with tailored support, tools, resources, case studies and events. Research-backed insights will inform evidence-based policy recommendations to support OCN and its advocacy partners, while learnings will be shared nationally to help inform approaches to apartment electrification beyond Victoria.
