The digital transformation of the Australian economy is well underway, yet information and data in the strata sector is still managed using manual and fragmented systems that lack transparency. Impacts of this include difficulties for buyers in obtaining vital information, lack of opportunity for strata community associations to improve processes and management decisions and challenges tracking issues such as defects or short-term letting across the sector.
This background paper sets out a roadmap for bringing strata into the digital age and for the creation of valuable platforms including a Strata Register that would improve accountability, transparency and consumer protection.
