City of Melbourne has tackled the job of developing information about existing apartment /unit strata schemes – take a look at the Handbook which will help you make informed decisions
Owners Corporation Act Review
OCN collaborated with groups in Victoria to create a strong submission on behalf of strata schemes regulated by the Owners Corporations Act 2006. Board Director Dr Janette Corcoran and OCN joint Managing Director Chris Irons met with the Expert Panel to hear about the 7 themes for review:
- Governance & related reforms
- Voting processes
- Short-stay accommodation
- Non-compliance & resolving disputes
- Manager conduct
- Financial hardship
- Collective sales
The submission close date was on 2 September (we had to get our skates on for this one!) and you can see the Engage Victoria overview here: VIC OC Act Review.
To assist those making submissions, OCN held a webinar with speakers Tom Bacon of Strata Title Lawyers, and Julie McLean a long-time strata industry leader and advocate.
